I am giving this 4.5 stars since it's the best tutorial you will find out there, the tutorial is done with Blender 2.48 even though you will have to download the 2.49 version from blender.org to use it with the DVD, you can download the latest version of Blender 2.57 too, the tutorials are very detailed and require a lot of attention, Roger covers learning the interface and shortcuts which you will use a lot, linking files to save or open them, modeling, lighting, shading, texturing, animation, rigging, simulating liquids and hair, rendering, compositing and sequencing and using nodes, Roger is a bit soft spoken so I turned up the volume and sped up the play option, but he is a great expert at explaining what the software does and how it works (the explanation of the boolean did not work maybe due to the 2.48 and 2.49 version) but this is how it's done from further research, To use Boolean left click on empty area to place 3D Cursor and click Spacebar and select Add Mesh and Object, right click and drag Boolean Object into Object that will be Cut and left click, click on W and select Add Difference Modifier, click on Editing icon and go to Modifier panel and select Add Modifiers and select Apply to Cut Object, and to delete Boolean Object select it and click X enter, other than that highly recommend getting this Blender Tutorial
