I got this dvd on e-bay. It has no english sub-titles, Its in hindi only. I have read the Ramayana, And understand the story. When it came in the mail to me I loaned it to my Indian friend first, He watched it and Loved it! He said it was Awesome! But it jumps around, Basicaly its a shortened version, Holding alot to the Action sequences, its very fast paced! And in my opinion, If you have read the story, you are in for a TREAT!!! I LOVED it aslo!!!! WOW!! 5 stars! So if you can just sit and "ENJOY THE SHOW" and not be technical, or opinionated, or CRITICAL! I'm sure you WILL enjoy this version!!! The Animation is Great!!!! You will be suprized to see a movie pre-view by Disney, and Warner brothers at the begining. Did they have some input to this film? I dont know? But I highly recomend this version!! I would like to know if this version Amazon is selling "Might" have the multi-lingual sub titles? But I say, Buy this Version!! Its Awesome!

Best Deals for Ramayana - The Epic (Mythological, Animated Hindi Film / Bollywood
To tell the story of the Ramayana in about an hour and a half just scratches the surface of this epic story of the ancient Hindu tradition. The CGI is colorful and lavish. The instant video version is subtitled in English.
Honest reviews on Ramayana - The Epic (Mythological, Animated Hindi Film / Bollywood
This is a great movie that is very enjoyable. I missed that it is not in English and sadly was sorry I purchased it. I can only watch the characters wondering what conversations are taking place.

This new animated version of "The Ramayana" is just what was needed to get young people in the West into the great epic. Visually it is astounding and uses totally up to date tecnology. The film does justice to the story and does not jarringly tinker with the plot, but WHY oh WHY isn't it at least subtitled? It is in Hindi and that is wonderful, but there is no English subtitle option and if you are using this as part of a literature/history class, as I am it is an immediate turn off for most teenage students. Yes, you can still follow the storyline, but honestly...if you are going to spend this much time, effort and treasure in making a MAJOR film like this you should subtitle it. It's too bad because my students absolutely love this story.
