This set is a must-own for anyone with a 3D TV. While we do own quite a few non-IMAX 3D movies, we've found that the 3D is most effective when captured by the IMAX experts, so we have gravitated to all of these available and are slowly but surely collecting them all. This set is a tremendous value as these movies can be quite expensive individually if you aren't careful. And considering these movies are only about 45 minutes or so each, any extra value is appreciated.

Contrary to what the previous reviewer said, these movies are not packed in on a single disc. The case is of the extra wide variety and there is a swinging disc tray inside to hold the third disc. Yes, there are three each movie gets its own disc and even includes its own special features, including interesting "making of" featurettes that were shot in HD. And yes, you can also watch these in 2D if for some strange reason you prefer that.

As far as the actual quality of the movies go, it's my opinion that Mummies is the best of the lot, with Wild Ocean taking 2nd place and Dinosaurs Alive trailing a ways behind. Which is mostly to be expected IMAX movies are good because they're fun to look at and typically have great narration. Wild Ocean and Mummies has some beautiful footage, but Dinosaurs relies on a lot of CG that mucks up the experience some.

Overall, highly recommended set of movies. This deserves to be in any 3DTV owner's collection.

I like the 3D IMAX format, and my daughters enjoy watching documentaries in that format. I will be always aware of this type of documentaries on all who come in Spanish language.

Three disc, three feature movies included in this set. If you like documentals, may be this is for you, but if you expect a little bit more action, just look for another feature. Quality is good, I mean, in terms of 3d. There is also a 2d version included in the same disc. About 3d efects, let me tell you that in certain moments the 3d efect looks just plain or 2d. I watched those discs on a Sony screen with active shutter glasses, sometimes you can see the crosswalk efect, may be is the screen or may be the movie itself, problably if you went to watch them on a 3d Imax screen you would say that look spectacular. In may opinion, let me tell you that I was expecting a little bit more action, because sometimes, it seems that more scientis have to contributed in order to make these films up to the level, in other words, we need more information about everything, a high level of research. In wild ocean feature, there are moments that seems a little bit monotonous (bored), because for a few minutes you can see just the same scene. In the mummies, we need to see more about it, I guess the director has to go a little bit deeper in the story. Finally, I gave three stars, the 3d is still in diapers, I guess we have to wait a little bit in order to watch better shots.

Honest reviews on 3-D Triple Feature: Dinosaurs Alive! / Wild Ocean / Mummies (IMAX)

you can buy the three features in this package for more than a used copy is on this site or get this one and enjoy the three imax shows on one 3d blu ray disc. Each imax show is only 40 minutes anyways so in this case it's not hard for them to do a triple pack. I have all of these shows and they are all good imax presentations. Some people don't like 'wild ocean' because it's about sardines and not the ocean though. Still this is a great package at the used price. The 3d is native , shot that way and that makes a difference too.

I love Wild Kratts well actually my 5 year old thinks these guys are beyond awesome and I love the education, fun adventure and no horrible super-villains in this series. My issue with this release is Kratt Komercialisation, or the law of diminishing returns.

EPISODE COUNT

1st DVD 8 Episodes (Creature Adventures)

2nd DVD 4 Episodes (Predator Power)

3rd DVD 4 Episodes (Jungle Animals)

4th DVD **2 Episodes** (This title)

I know Martin & Chris probably have little say in it; maybe the finger should be pointed at PBS? Either way, I did not mention the limited number of episodes but even my 5 year old said "Where are the other new episodes?" when he watched this.

The dollar cost per episode is up. The cost per Ep to the environment is up too with 2 ep releases more plastic, more postage, more manufacturing energy.

Education 5 stars,

Quality 5 stars,

Adventure 5 stars,

Kratts Bros 5 stars (they rock),

2 Episodes 1 star,

Average 4 stars.

Chris and Martin, just like the start of each episode please say "Imagine if all future releases had more than 2 episodes What if!"

ALL your stuff is great (we have bought it all) however please don't let the dudes in suits compromise your integrity by releasing anymore 2 ep dvds please use your creature powers and don't give in!

LOVE Wild Kratts! However, I'm disappointed that "Lost at Sea" has only 2 episodes on it. The smallest number on a Kratts DVD yet.

My boys love wild kratts they watch it every day and it is educational I teaches facts about about blowfish and whals

Honest reviews on Wild Kratts: Lost at Sea (2012)

Sea life was always one of the most interesting units to share with young children when I was teaching. There is so much to learn about these wild life sea creatures. When I saw the opportunity to review Wild Kratts Lost at Sea, I was so excited!

My 4 year old grandson is studying sea life in his preschool this month. While the video was entertaining, it was also full of information. We have watched it three times this week when he visits. "Blowfish Blowout" is his favorite, although we watch both episodes each time.

I must admit that I learned many things about these sea creatures around the world that I never knew. My 2 year old grandson has sat by my side watching Wild Kratts Lost at Sea with us too. He is amused with the "wildly fun adventure" as much as the 4 year old. I love the science lessons he is learning at such a young age.

Videos that can educate and entertain are not easy to find these days. I am so excited to add Wild Kratts Lost at Sea to my video library at my house. I wish I would have had this video when I was teaching, I will share it with my grandsons preschool this week!

I saw the movie Wild Ocean 3D at the Imax theater in the Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., over Christmas Break. It is an amazing experience. It was of course in 3D.

The filmmakers take you to one of the few remaining stretches of wild coastline, the KwaZulu-Natal Wild Coast in South Africa, where you observe the migration of millions of fish and the various biosystems that these fish support sharks, dolphins, whales, gannets, people. It is Africa by the sea, and it is stunning.

I especially loved the musical score. Composed by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the people who created STOMP Live, it is a pulsing, engaging, and outsize score for an outsize film about an outsize landscape. I loved it!

The underlying message is, of course, the disappearance of wild ecosystems and what must be done to prevent more loss. Great movie, great message.

The title of this BD 3D DVD is a little misleading. It mainly talked about the migration of sardine in South Africa and its upstream food chains. It is an interesting story. The movie has a lot of mediocre footages that are not good for 3D experience.

Best Deals for IMAX: Wild Ocean (2008)

This feature isn't bad and kind of interesting at times. The 3D was pretty good but I did notice some ghosting in a few spots that I bet were errors in the mastering process. Nothing bad though. It was also nice not to be preached at about conservation through the entire film (see Grand Canyon: River at Risk for that sort of thing).

On the down side, it was boring in a few spots and it seems like they used the same shots over and over again (especially the dolphins swimming at the camera).

Not worth $20 but still interesting.

Honest reviews on IMAX: Wild Ocean (2008)

Grab a puke bucket as you'll be sick from buying this.

Here is what you get: Sardines swimming in circles for half, yes half!, the movie. I understand that the little stinky things were the "highlight" but they are the entire movie!

Sardines swimming here. Sardines there. Oh look, other birds, fish and stuff are hungry. Cue the Sardines! They must know the producer or something.

Really? Nothing wild about their featured Ocean.

3D: Horrible for the underwater shots. Great for above water shots. But, don't we want to see great underwater shots AFTER ALL the movie is WILD OCEAN.

I really wish there were more sardines swimming in circles. Couldn't get enough.

Its a nice story but like the other reviewer I was hoping for a better 3D experience , what annoyed me the most is the narrator he has a thick south African accent and can be hard to clearly hear its distracting he sounds a little like Morgan Freeman but its not him.... I was hoping to see more species there are a lot of dolphins and sardines but I wanted to see more .... btw the channel n3d on directv airs this program for free in 3d as well....

I HAD HIGH HOPES ON THIS MOVIE BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED.IF YOU LIKE LOOKING AT TREE'S, RIVER, PLANTS, THAT GREAT CAUSE THAT MOSTS OF IT.IN THE END YOU SEE MONKEYS, VULTURES & BIRDS & THE ONE LEOPARD.IN FACT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BLACK VULTURE WHILE YOUR ACTUALLY SEEING A SMALL YELLOW BIRD..BAD EDITING

I own a ton of nature videos and this is probably the worst one I have ever bought. They have pictures of animals on the front cover and back that give it the illusion that it will be interesting, but the whole video is just panoramic shots of trees and plants put to some annoying music. The narrator is also terrible. The closest thing you get to wildlife is a few random shots of birds. If you like a boring video of trees and flowers, that was probably shot in the span of 2 days, than this video is for you.

Best Deals for AMAZON 3D - In The Heart Of Wild Nature (Blu-ray 3D & 2D Version)

I'll echo what others have said about the lingering shots on a subject while the narrator had already moved on to the next subject. Quite a few of those moments in the film as well as too many shots of water, plants and trees and not nearly enough shots of the wild and insect life. I'll also add that there are some very nice 3D shots in the movie. There's one when it's raining and the rain is outside of the screen and others where large plant leaves extend outwards. There are also shots that have great depth. There are no atmospheric sounds, just wall to wall music that is relaxing but it can't compare to sounds of the animals, birds and insects in the rain forest.

Honest reviews on AMAZON 3D - In The Heart Of Wild Nature (Blu-ray 3D & 2D Version)

I purchased this DVD thinking there would be a lot of animals in 3D. What you get is a lot of video of plants, trees and river shots. If your a botanist or you like watching foliage then great. If you like seeing mammals and reptiles your out of luck. The only reason I'm rating this a 2 star is because it was shot in 3D, if it wasn't it would be a 1 star.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for AMAZON 3D - In The Heart Of Wild Nature (Blu-ray 3D & 2D Version)

This video seriously sucked. The vast majority of it was filmed in a boat looking at the trees and plants on the side of the river. The few animals it did show appeared to be in a refuge or zoo. Absolutely terrible. Even the editing was off. The narrator would talk about a bird and it would finally get to the bird 10 seconds later. The 3d effects were good if you are into looking at plants and bushes. Would have given it zero stars but you have to give at least one. We didn't even finish it...fast forwarded through most of it and then fast forwarded it into the garbage can.

I have noted in the last few years it seems that about the only films that are being release is loaded with graphic horror and bloodletting while the need for family fare is almost none existence. Well this film is a good family film. The story in itself strays from Jack London's story but it does give you the sense of adventure needed to spur the imagination of the young and old alike.

In the mid-60s there was a show called "Wild Wild West" that starred Robert Conrad as James "Jim" West, a western version of James Bond, and Ross Martin as his brainy sidekick Artemus Gordon. This show was creative and intelligent and yet full of action. The movie "Wild Wild West" starring Will Smith and Kevin Kline has nothing to do with that television show, unfortunately.

Will Smith is another Jim West and Kevin Kline is another Artemus Gordon in an alternate universe that never existed. In this universe the Wright brothers apparently were asleep as Artemus and Jim were tooling around a giant steam-powered iron spider that is unlikely to exist in any imaginable reality. Indeed, the only point of any vague historical accuracy is that there was a President Grant and there was a meeting of the railroads. After that, this movie is "The Twilight Zone" in the west.

In this fantasy movie Kenneth Branagh plays Dr. Loveless. Once again, forget the wonderful Michael Dunn as the original Dr. Loveless. Branagh has none of the charm and wit of the original. Dr. Loveless has decided to create his own empire based on the ability of his giant spider to trounce anyone who gets in his way. However, he seemed to have neglected to consider that an open cockpit is a sure way to eventually be shot. Along the way we see a number of other equally improbable devices that make for interesting special effects but continual disappointment with the movie.

I have yet to mention that not only is this west some bizarre fantasy version of the original west, but this version of Jim West has a continual string of one-liners that would have allowed him to do stand-up, but not in the alternate reality of this movie where no one seemed to understand his jokes, often including the audience. Kevin Kline also had a number of humorous lines, though his were more ironic and involved, and typically based on technology that exists only in the alternate reality of this world.

This movie does have its moments. If you like comedy and know little about the original "Wild Wild West," you may find the comedy overwhelms the total destruction of history and scientific feasibility; or perhaps you like stories of alternate realities. The special effects are wonderful. I admit that when I could overcome my disappointment that there was no attempt to remain within the vision of the original show I was fascinated by the gadgets. However, gadgetry alone does not overcome the unbelievable story.

Oh, and as if all the other flaws in the movie were not enough to disappoint a viewer, the DVD includes Will Smith doing a hip-hop song. Hip-hop in the west? Perhaps I watched this movie from the wrong perspective. Maybe if I had taken it for a farce, like "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," I would have liked the movie better. Then again, probably not.

"Wild Wild West" is not a total fiasco, but it's easy to see why this big-budget revamp of the classic TV show never clicked. Simply put, Will Smith and Kevin Kline are not Robert Conrad and Ross Martin. There's no chemistry or rapport between Fresh Prince and Shakespeare Boy, which seriously damages the film's potential. Kenneth Branagh for all his talents doesn't hold a candle to Michael Dunn's original Dr. Loveless. Despite its impressive set design and visual effects, "Wild Wild West" falls flat. Here's some helpful advice to producers planning big-screen remakes of 1960s TV shows: If you cannot find the right actors, don't bother.

Best Deals for Wild Wild West (1999)

Wild, Wild, West is undoubtedly one of the year's worst films. One of the factors that makes the movie so frustrating to watch is the fact that it is based on one of the most inventive and original shows I have had the pleasure of seeing. Inventiveness and originality are lacking in this mess of a movie where the script is horrible, the one-liners stale and the performances wooden(except Kenneth Branagh, whom you feel sorry for trying so hard to be evil).

Will Smith is stripped of the charisma that is his best selling point. Kevin Kline, a talented actor is reduced to playing second banana to an uninteresting hero and I have a hard time remembering Salma Hayek is in the movie.

I didn't really expect it to be "good", but I at least expected it to entertain me, instead of providing rest I didn't need. What a waste!

Honest reviews on Wild Wild West (1999)

When you go to see a Will Smith movie, you expect it to be entertaining and fast-paced. A movie with Kevin Kline might have your expectations leaning more in the direction of cerebral, tight-knit & solid entertainment. If Salma Hayek is in it, well ....at least you expect a flick with visual appeal ...1, 2, 3 STRIKES...Wild Wild West STRIKES OUT! TALK ABOUT DROPPING THE BALL ! Will Smith, whose laid-back, street-wise-cracking veneer, usually hides a well-focused on screen in tensity that is both impossible to miss ordislike ...seemed to be sauntering through the film, feeling embarrassedly like a walking anachronism, considering the "Old West" backdrop! Kevin Kline, on the other hand, who usually brings a certain air of bravura to his oft-times eccentric characterizations, seemed to display a marked inability to take himself seriously when in drag, (Which, unfortunately, is during a good chunk of the film)lapsing into a pathetic sort self-parody, which, considering the script, may have been the only way he could stomach the role ! Salma Hayek, for whom no one is exactly holding their breath for her to win an Oscar as Best Actress, seemed OBSESSED with getting her lines out with as little accent as possible...Despite the fact that she was clearly cast as Mexican in this film...(As opposed to her bit part in The FACULTY!) You could almost imagine "La Mejicanita" standing there, during shooting, with her Accent/ Dialogue Coach, just out of camera range! Salma... concentrate MORE on your ACTING, next time, O.K.?

As far as Barry Sonnenfled's Directing is concerned...well, here we could imagine him running around frantically, till the last minute, editing & re-editing, trying to decide exactly what it is he was trying to do with "WILD"....and of course, not even coming CLOSE to getting it right!

The ONLY reason I rated the movie 2 Stars (as opposed to 0 Stars!) is because of the scope & the

novelty of the Special Effects. The idea of seeing all those well orquestrated, and at times visually stunning effects against an Old West backdrop was the only refreshing & original element in the film ...If you are not a diehard Special Effects buff, I can think of absolutely no reason on earth why you would find anything at all worth seeing in this pathetic excuse for a Blockbuster film !

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Wild Wild West (1999)

first they cast a black man as an undercover agent in the wild west where he would never be able to help as they would never let him in most places. remember this was before political correctiness or civil rights. then they turn one of the best villins on t.v. into a racist man missing most of his body. then they add state of the art f/x and think they have a great movie. it's pure trash and gets one star because you can't give no stars. a waste and you should see the t.v. show if you want to see this concept really work well. just not good at all, a mess.

This movie parallels two different wildlife sanctuaries in two different parts of the world. And because the movie is filmed in 3D, with IMAX quality, viewers feel like they are right there. To top it off, Morgan Freeman is the narrator.

In Kenya the story takes you to a refuge for baby elephants managed by elephant expert, Dame Daphne Sheldrick. She and her team rescue baby elephants from the wild who have lost their mothers for various reasons and nurture them until they are old enough and strong enough to be released back into the wilderness. Half way across the earth from Kenya is Borneo, where an orangutan sanctuary deep in the rain forest rescues baby orangutans whose mothers have been killed. It is here that primatologist, Dr. Birute Galdikas, and her team, act as mothers to these fragile creatures until they can be released back into their natural habitat.

The cuteness factor of the baby animals in this movie is off the charts. There is a scene where a worker is pushing a group of baby orangutans in a wheel barrel, and everyone in the theater audibly sighed. There is another priceless scene where the primates are soaping themselves up in a bath. The baby elephants are playful and friendly and so darn adorable too. Some of the babies have trouble falling asleep so the workers have to stay with them to help them relax. You'll wish you could take one home with you. I like the way the movie takes you back and forth to the two sanctuaries. The cinematography is spectacular, as it is in all IMAX movies I've ever seen.

Children will learn that, although wild animals are cute and friendly, they are still wild and that must be respected. The rescuers give these babies a second chance to survive and let them be the animals that they naturally are while in captivity. That way when they are set free, they have the greatest chance of survival.

Anyone, young or old, who loves animals will love this IMAX movie.

This really is a great movie for kids and adults alike, albeit it does have some rather sad parts which may affect younger children. It does go beyond (and sets its aims higher) than many nature movies by showing that animals are not just cute, cuddly and goofy, but also sentient beings with feelings and fears which are in real danger from mankind's stupidity and greed.

It also showcases and celebrates two extraordinary women thousands of miles apart who have given their lives to the cause of helping to save two very different species (African elephants and orangutans). I took my three year old son and was proud to point to these women as heroes worthy of praise and emulation.

The only problem that I had with this movie is its very brief running time. I thought that a mistake had been made when the credits started rolling a little after half an hour in. I understand that it was an IMAX movie, which generally run about half the time of features, but thought that for full price movie tickets, it was a tad brief. Please reference IMDB which lists the running time as 40 minutes in contradiction to Amazon's listing of 90 minutes. Unless there has been a lot of footage added (i.e. more than double the original movie), then this appears to be incorrect.

I took my kids to see this back in August 2011 at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

It was their 1st IMAX experience (they are 4 and 2 years old). They were so patient and were riveted!

I love how it was all about FAMILY. Animals need love and care just as much as humans.

I have been searching online for the video since then. I have it preordered and I can't wait to rewatch it over and over!

Honest reviews on IMAX: Born to Be Wild (2012)

I went into seeing Born to Be Wild 3D without knowing much about it. I knew it was about orphaned Orangutans and Elephants, but that was about it. From the beginning I was moved emotionally by this film. One might think by looking at it that this is only for children, but really it applies to anyone and everyone who lives on Earth. The underlying message of the film is that the problems these animals are facing are mostly human induced. It's fitting that this film was released on Earth Day, in order to make people truly understand the radical impact that humanity has on our environment.

Morgan Freeman provides an excellent narration of the events occurring, along with commentary by experts in animal conservation. My favorite scene was when the elephants in Kenya were playing soccer (or football, whatever you want to call it) with the staff taking care of them. I whole heartedly recommend this film to anyone who has an interest in nature, animals, conservation or just wants to see a well done documentary. It left me with such a good feeling afterward, and made me feel spurred to help.

This video uses the Pulfrich effect for 3D, meaning that with glasses that have one dark lens objects that have backgrounds moving sideways across the screen have the illusion of of 3D. Only some of the scenes use this effect. And although some of the quality is good, a lot of this video is filler with not enough time of the women on the screen.
